This Amazon kindlebook of The Audacity To Be A Writer; 50 Inspiring Articles On Writing That Could Change Your Life by Bryan Hutchinson and Multiple Contributors is an invigorating read whether you are writing with author career goals in mind andor for creative writing therapy. There is helpful advice such as sometimes it is ok to write something that others may question as wise when allowing creativity to come through. There is also healing and helpful tips given on how to encourage your self-confidence to continue towards your writing dreams even when you are criticized. There is also information on how to give effective constructive criticism as well as the explanation on why it is beneficial to aim for writing at least 200-500 words a day. Of course, there are much more informative details in this book to where I only wish that I came across this book sooner this year. However, I feel fortunate/lucky to have obtained this kindlebook because of the treasure trove of writing mentorship throughout the chapters, as well as writing resources to turn to for continued writing/authorship improvement and/or encouragement.

This movie Bridge of Spies jumped out at me because it seemed like it would be a perfect film of intense suspense. My premonitions were correct and I unexpectedly became a little more informed during the movie about international relations. Tom Hanks stars as James B. Donovan., a character very much committed to upholding what the U.S. constitution stands for when it comes to his clients. Donovan’s life is turned dramatically upside down when he is assigned the case of Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance). This is because the character of Donovan is shown going through so much via having his life and that of his family in danger after he does his job of defending Abel (much to the chagrin of some the people who knew Donovan professionally). Despite extreme public condemnation, Donovan successfully fights for Abel with the argument that such a situation may set a precedent in the situation that an American is captured by the USSR. Donovan experiences some redemption from professional criticism of what he advocated for Abel when Francis Powers (Austin Stowell) is captured by the USSR after his aircraft is shot down. Additionally, the film features an American college student named Frederic Pryor (Will Rogers) who was captured by the Eastern Germany police forces. However, Donovan’s work is far from done when this happens. I want to share more details in this review but I understand that I must take into account anyone seeing this who has not yet seen the film. | Redbox Rental Touches on Courage/Determination,

The Revenant film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass. The beginning of the film opens with Glass and other men around them fighting for their life. One of the reasons that is given in the movie why such a war broke out relates to one of the daughters named Powaqa (Melaw Nakekho) of an Arikawa leader named Elk Dog (Duane Howard)being kidnapped by someone andor some people affiliated with the French hunters. Hugh Glass, his son Hawk (Forest Goodluck) and other men are able to survive and get away. However, things take a tougher turn for Glass’s character when he is attacked by a grizzly bear and his life is eventually left in the hands of John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) and Will Poulter (Jim Bridger). It is tempting to mention more details and characters mentioned in the film yet I must take care to keep details brief for other people who have yet to see Revenant. I also became interested in watching the Revenant after finding out that the author whose book this movie is based on also works a day job. This inspired me because deep down I would like to still maintain a career/job while balancing the dual role of being a writer regardless of how my writing dreams turn out.

The Hunt For Red October film touches on some tense situations involving submarine plots. The film features Sean Connery as a military officer named Marko Aleksandrovich Ramius who is a Commanding Officer of the Red October submarine. Alec Baldwin features in the film as a man named Jack Ryan who works as a CIA intelligence analyst, an author, and a Professor of Naval History at the United States Naval Academy. Jack Ryan is called on to help the U.S. Navy with the situation involving the submarine commanded by Ramius. Captain Ramius looks forward to bringing his submarine to the United States but has to stay alive and conceal his plan from many of his colleagues before safely reaching the U.S. (in addition to not getting himself or his men killed before he has a chance to explain his plan). Other naval references made in the film involve mention of the USS Enterprise Carrier Battle Group. The film also features an all-star cast because of the inclusion of Sam Neill, James Earl Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Joss Ackland, Tim Curry, Courtney B. Vance, Scott Glenn,Fred Dalton Thompson, and more actors/actresses (featured in The Hunt For Red October). My husband explained to me some of the facets of the Ryan character such as the character similarities to the Jack Reacher film featuring Tom Cruise. Because my husband also introduced me to the Vikings tv show he also recognized and pointed out to me Stellan Skarsgard in the film who has been in Thor and who is also the father of Gustaf Skarsgard (connected with the Vikings television show).

As an aspiring writer and music lover, I wanted to give this music collection of Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway by Barbara Streisand a listen both for creative writing therapy and to help me understand how music ties into story plots (since I enjoy being inspired by songs when it comes to plot ideas). This collection is also great if you are an eclectic music listener because of the cheery vibe of the songs and the strong singing. I actually enjoyed listening to the entire collection of Encore; Movie Partners Sing Broadway by Barbara Streisand, yet I admit that the Broadway take of Pure Imagination on this collection is one meaningful song that resonated in my soul after hearing it multiple times (the song tied into the Willy Wonka film is great as well yet something about the Broadway version on Encore; Movie Partners Sing Broadway by Barbara Streisand stirred my soul).

The Trolls Original Motion Soundtrack has additional strong and upbeat songs on this collection such as Get Back Up Again, True Colors (both versions), They Don’t Know, and the film version of Can’t Stop the Feeling and more. Overall, this is a good soundtrack to listen to if you are receptive to listening to happy pop music.

This Amazon kindle that is the Fire Tablet, 7” Display (with Wi-Fi and 8 GB) was given to me in early September by my mother in law. She kindly bought me a replacement after the previous one she bought for me died after it got too wet after an extremely rainy night (yes I know better for next time to conceal the kindle in a protective ziplock bag whenever I take it outside with me). Anyhow, I enjoy using this kindle as well for listening to music, looking at kindlebooks, viewing the internet etc. As with the previous kindle gifted to me this one is easy to recharge and gives good screen quality when I’m scanning the kindlebooks.
